Vicenza city skyline

Overview

Vicenza is the most beautiful Italian city you have probably never thought about living in. The whole place is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, not for one monument but for the work of a single genius: Andrea Palladio, the Renaissance architect whose villas and palaces here went on to shape buildings from the White House to half the grand homes of England. It is wealthy, refined, and gorgeous, and it sits in the Veneto being overlooked by everyone rushing to Venice and Verona. Their loss.
